Lodgement Point FAQs

Where do I get copies of the cover sheet from?
The cover sheet includes a unique bar code for each customer transaction therefore the form cannot be copied or replicated in any way. Forms are available from the IP Lodgement Points, or you can receive one by contacting IP Australia on 1300 651 010 or via email at assist@ipaustralia.gov.au.

Can I lodge my documents at any other Australia Post locations?
Lodgements for Patents, Trade Marks and Designs can only be made at the above locations as of the transition dates. These locations are based in the CBD areas of each capital city for the convenience of customers.

Can I lodge my Plant Breeder's Rights documents at Australia Post?
Unfortunately the arrangements do not allow for Plant Breeder's Rights lodgements with Australia Post. However, IP Australia has developed the entire suite of PBR forms as e-forms. This means customers can complete the form on screen and even submit the form online, sending it directly to IP Australia, making the entire process electronic.

All PBR forms are now available in this new format from 27 August 2009, making the process convenient, quick and easy for customers.

Plant Breeder's Rights forms, payments or other correspondence can continue to be lodged directly at IP Australia in Canberra to PO Box 200 Woden ACT 2606 or by fax to +61 2 6283 7999.
