Confidentiality

Most of the contracts listed contain confidentiality provisions of a general nature that are designed to protect the confidential information of the parties that may be obtained or generated in carrying out the contract. The reason for including such clauses:

  • ordinary commercial prudence that requires protection of trade secrets, proprietary information and the like
  • protection of other Commonwealth material and personal information.

IP Australia Consultancies over $10,000 2010-11

Our policy on the selection and engagement of consultants and approving expenditure takes into account all relevant legislation; the revised Commonwealth Procurement Guidelines and our Chief Executive Instructions (CEI's). The procurement method is determined having regard to the cost and nature of the work involved.

During 2010-11, we engaged consultants to provide specialist advice and services in the following major areas:

  • Business Continuity Management Services;
  • Team Function and Structure Review (customer operations);
  • Web Content Management Technical Services;
  • Business Case Review;
  • Risk Management Framework Review; and
  • Organisational Design Review (Domestic Policy)

During 2010-11, 8 new consultancy contracts were entered into involving total actual expenditure of $175,308. In addition, 4 ongoing consultancy contracts were active during the 2010-11 year, involving total actual expenditure of $392,962.

Senate Order - Contracts over $100,000 for the 2011 Calendar Year

Pursuant to the Senate Order on departmental and agency contracts we have a list of current external contracts over $100,000, which: 

  • have not been fully performed as at 31 December 2011; or
  • which have been entered into during the 12 months prior to 31 December 2011. 

Legal Services Expenditure for 2010/2011

The total legal services expenditure for IP Australia in the 2010/11 financial year was $666,821.00.

Grants Awarded as per the Commonwealth Grant Guidelines (CGGs) 2009

The purpose of the CGGs is to establish the policy framework for all departments and agencies subject to the Financial Management and Accountability Act 1997(FMA Act) and their officials, when performing duties in relation to grants administration.

We have grants awarded as per CGG 2009.
