Improving our intellectual property system

We are committed to involving you in our public consultations. These public consultations are targeted to anyone who is interested as well as experts, peak bodies and interest groups. We currently have three main consultations open for comment:
1. Intellectual Property Laws Amendment Bill 2012 (TRIPS Protocol)
We welcome public comments on the draft legislation to implement the Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) Protocol.
Consultation closes
The deadline is 5.00pm 1 October 2012.

2. Innovation Patents
IP Australia invites public comment on a proposal to amend the Patents Act 1990, which would raise the patentability threshold for Innovation Patents to the same level of inventiveness as required for Standard Patents.
