Update on the review of pharmaceutical patents

The Pharmaceutical Patents Review Panel released its draft report on 2 April 2013 inviting responses from the public.

In October 2012, the Government commissioned an expert panel to undertake a review of pharmaceutical patents. The Review Panel released an Issues Paper in November 2012 and conducted a series of public hearings in February 2013.

The Review Panel released its draft report on 2 April, and is available on the Pharmaceutical Patents Review website. Members of the public are welcome to provide written responses to the draft report by 30 April 2013.

The Review Panel is due to submit its final report to the Government on 30 May 2013. The Government will then consider and respond to the recommendations made in the report.
