Australia and India Launch Free Trade Negotiations

Trade Minister Craig Emerson meets with India's Minister for Commerce and Industry to launch Free Trade Agreement negotiations.
Trade Minister Craig Emerson and Dr Anand Sharma, India's Minister for Commerce and Industry, met recently in Canberra for the annual Australia-India Joint Ministerial Commission trade talks.
The focus of the talks was the launch of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations between Australia and India, aimed at achieving greater economic integration between the two countries.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is seeking public submissions on issues relevant to this FTA, including stakeholder views on issues relating to doing business in India, such as intellectual property.
