Innovation Patent Consultation
Public consultation for amendment to the Patents Act 1990: Innovation patent changes
IP Australia invites public comment on a proposal to amend the Patents Act 1990, which would raise the patentability threshold for Innovation Patents to the same level of inventiveness as required for Standard Patents. This change aims to support innovation among small to medium enterprise by ensuring only high quality patents are granted.
