Changes made in this release
- “Sealed“ will no longer be a valid patent status. It will be replaced in searching and display by the term “Granted“.
- Preliminary Search and Opinion (PSO) reports will be available in eDossier and the report completion date will be published in the Application Details screen.
- Changes to the Opposition labels to reflect the business change from serving to filing requests.
- The introduction of ‘companion’ publication actions that reflect the application status change from “Sealed” to “Granted”. Searches using existing publication actions will also return records for the new companion publication action.
Quick Search
As application records will no longer have a status of “Sealed“ any search conducted using the term “seal“ will not return records based upon application status. The term will still return records when the word is used in other fields such as invention title.Structured Search
- The active Application Status of “Sealed” will no longer be available. It will be replaced by the term “Granted”.
- The Publication Action of “Letters Patent Sealed” will be replaced by the term “Letters Patent Sealed/ Patent Granted”.
- The search term “Sealing date” has been replaced with “Granting date”.
Advanced Search
- Using the search term “sealed IN ST” will no longer return any results.
- The search term will need to be “granted IN ST”. The search term “SD” will reference the “Granted date” search field.
- The publication code (PS) will be valid for both “Patent Sealed” historical records and ongoing “Patent Granted” records.
Search Results
- The Application status column will contain the status of “Granted” rather than “Sealed”.
Application Details
- The application status will be displayed as “Granted” rather than “Sealed”.
- The PSO report completion date will be displayed when this service has been undertaken.
- The section dealing with Sealing details has been universally relabelled to reflect “Granting”.
- The PSO report will be available in the eDossier section.
- The publication history section will reflect “Granted” publication actions for any activity after the 2nd March 2013. Publication actions occurring prior to this point will still refer to the term “Sealing”.
- The following changes will be made to the Opposition extension types
