TM Headstart application - what to include
Before you apply using TM Headstart, consider:

What you need to complete your TM Headstart
- Your name, address and contact details for the form.
- Your trade mark. If it is an image it must be in TIFF (.tif), JPEG (.jpg or .jpeg), or PNG (.png). The minimum image size is 227 x 227 pixels (approximately 8 cm x 8 cm). File attachments are limited to a maximum of 20MB.
- Know what you are offering as goods or services.
- Your credit card details handy (MasterCard or Visa only).
Apply using TM Headstart
You must submit your TM Headstart request online.
A special feature of the form is the Goods and Services pick-list, which allows you to select those classes relevant to your trade mark. The pick-list will help you to nominate goods and services in their correct classes and will calculate the fees for your request.
When you submit your request, you will be required to pay the entry fee using Mastercard or Visa. These are the only payment options available for the service.
After you apply using TM Headstart
If you choose to continue with the trade mark application after the initial assessment you will then be asked to make a Part 2 fee payment.
