The Australian STAR Rating Scheme is a system of assessing and rating of properties as to the quality of the facilities, amenities, maintenance and cleanliness in accordance with the Australian STAR guidelines.

The process for receiving an AAA Tourism, Australian STAR Rating under the scheme requires:

application for assessment
assessment by an AAAT assessor
paying the required fees
re-assessment in the event of re-furbishment
adhering to the rules of use
