ACAS

867784

The Australian Crop Accreditation Scheme ACAS was established to provide sound information on the performance and characteristics of crop grain varieties, so that growers can make informed selections from available varieties.

The ACAS certification scheme aims to:

  • establish, develop and publish protocols for evaluating the yield, quality, disease and other agronomic characteristics of crop grain varieties
  • invite plant breeders to submit technical information they wish to have accredited regarding proposed varieties
  • accredit submitted technical information where the information conforms to established protocols
  • examine and audit as appropriate the procedures used by plant breeders to generate submitted technical information against the established protocols
  • publish accredited information in a form that enables growers to make valid comparisons between crop grain varieties
