If your business has a website you may not be aware of the IP issues doing business online, or if you are ready to export and just need some more advice, the IP Passport country fact sheets may be able to assist you to make informed decisions about the IP in your business before you export.

The fact sheets may benefit your business by assisting you to better understand intellectual property (IP) and how it is vital in protecting your business in the Australian market place. The fact sheets may also help you understand IP issues when doing business overseas, the challenges you may face when attempting to protect your IP in other countries and overcoming common pitfalls.

IP Australia's website also contains a section on international resources, including more detailed information for Australian businesses on the IP systems and protection mechanisms in China and Japan.

There is also further information on IP and the global marketplace, on protecting your designs overseas, on international trade marks, international patents and protecting your plant variety overseas.

If you missed attending one of the seminars, we will shortly feature a downloadable video from the Melbourne IP Passport event held on 29 February 2008, featuring each of the speakers at that seminar, including an IP lawyer and exporter case study.
