You need not disclose your identity to IP Australia in order to enter the competition. 

Although an IP address is recorded when you lodge a vote in the competition, no identifiable data is extracted from that address.  IP Australia’s internet server, or that of its Internet Service Provider, may automatically record details including the user’s server address, the user’s top level domain name (for example .com, .gov, .au, .uk etc), the date and time of visit to the site, the pages accessed, the previous site visited, and the type of browser used.  Such information, other than votes which are tallied for the purposes of the competition, is:

  1. used for internal statistical purposes and to improve the competition website; and

  2. treated in accordance with IP Australia’s Privacy Policy

IP Australia will not use any information it, or its Internet Service Provider, has gathered in relation to the competition to identify users or their browsing activities, except where it is required to do so by law.  The statistics and log files associated with the competition website may be preserved indefinitely.
