The product: a land windsurfer

The Dirtsurfer replicates the feeling of surfing or snowboarding - but on grass, dirt or bitumen.

There are other 'all terrain' boards, but the Dirtsurfer has a unique design and appearance. Its 20-inch wheels and aluminium frame set it apart from the rest.

The strategy: patent, design and trade mark registration

Graeme applied for a patent for the way the Dirtsurfer works, a registered design for the way it looks, and a trade mark for the name.
