Great ideas help make your business competitive, but there's little benefit unless you can capture the commercial benefits of those ideas. Unless you have a solid working knowledge of the IP system, it's less likely that you will be able identify IP problems before it's too late. Similarly, this knowledge can drive business growth by helping you to better cultivate the commercial value of your IP.
With this in mind, IP Australia has funded the development of training aimed at improving IP understanding amongst Australian businesses, including eight new units of competency and six skill sets. These resources have been developed in close consultation with industry and represent the most comprehensive suite of competency-based IP training ever developed in Australia.

It plays a major role in workforce development by helping to equip Australians with the skills and qualifications that businesses need to be competitive.
