Designs Records

Purpose

 

Enable IP Australia to meet its accountability requirements to the Australian Government by providing an effective history of transactions and decisions made under the Designs Act 1906 and the Designs Act 2003. The records provide details of the administration of design applications and registered designs.

 

Content

 

All information associated with the prosecution of design applications and the maintenance of registered designs. Includes applicant details, and descriptions and representations of designs.

 

Access and Security

 

Public access to design records depends on the status of the design. Details of registered or published designs are publicly available. However, details of designs that do not become registered or published are not publicly available. Design records are generally unclassified.
