The FWOW Program draws together three inter-dependent projects focused on People, Place and Technology to create our workplace for the future.  The capabilities delivered by each project are sponsored by the respective General Manager (PCG - People, FBSG – Place, ITG – Technology) with the FWOW Program Manager providing delivery oversight. Successful delivery of the program requires a strong focus on people, communication and change as we transform our organisation and transition our work force to a more flexible way of working.  

Section Responsibilities

This small team is responsible for designing and driving the implementation of the people element of IP Australia’s Future Way of Working program. The team will work closely with the other elements of the program to ensure a coordinated whole-of-agency approach to IP Australia’s people strategies, policies and processes deliver a flexible, adaptable work environment for our workforce now and into the future.

Job Description / Context of the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for designing and driving the implementation of the people element of IP Australia’s FWoW program. The successful applicant will provide leadership, guidance and direction to ensure best practice people management strategies and practices are considered in driving transformation change for the organisation to work flexibly now and into the future.
The successful applicant will ensure the people aspects of the program align with intent and direction of the organisations workforce planning models, practices and objectives. 

We are seeking an experienced professional with demonstrated experience in transformational change programs. They will have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of best practice strategies to guide staff to lead, manage and work differently into the future. 
The successful applicant will be an experienced leader who can think strategically, influence, plan and execute and work in a small, dynamic team. They will have experience working with senior leaders, external providers and staff to drive and influence change.

They will be a flexible, adaptable professional who can balance competing priorities, with a proven track record of effectively managing a range of stakeholder relationships to deliver quality results.

Job Specific Duties

  • Provide support to the General Manager of People and Communication Group and FWOW Program Manager to ensure strong coordination of the people, change and communication activities are well managed across all three elements of the program (People, Place and Technology)
  • Provide leadership of the people aspects of the program, with a focus on embedding and advancing flexible working arrangements through effective people strategies and practices
  • Strategically manage activities and resources including high level project management and effective liaison with a range of stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with the Director, Design and Fitout and Senior Project Manager for the Place and Technology elements
  • Demonstrates attitudes and behaviours responsive to workplace change (including participates in and encourages others to participate in change and contribute to successful outcomes)
  • Improves organisational performance through effective engagement with and management of risk within relevant sphere of influence
  • Establishe clear expectations and creates an environment to achieve stated goals and objectives, takes ownership and honours commitments
  • Maintain an understanding of their/worker responsibilities under the Work Health & Safety Act 2011 (WHS Act) and a commitment to promoting a healthy and safe workplace.

Eligibility Qualifications / Knowledge Required

Qualifications or relevant experience in the field of human resources, change management, communication or a related field is highly desirable.
