IP Australia is conducting a review of Australia’s design ecosystem to better understand what drives visual design innovation and what changes may be needed to realise greater benefits to the Australian economy.
On 2 December 2019, IP Australia hosted a Designs Forum in collaboration with the University of Sydney. The Forum was an exciting and unique opportunity for the design community to meet with government and drive discussions for new and innovative ideas for designs reform that will generate tangible improvements benefitting the Australian design community and consumers.
Earlier in 2019, IP Australia sought public comment on the exposure draft of regulations to amend the Trade Marks Regulations 1995 to allow division of International Registrations Designating Australia (“Division of IRDAs”).
