New toolkit released to promote business-research collaborations

To help businesses and researchers work together, we’ve revamped the IP Toolkit for Collaboration (IP Toolkit). Originally launched in September 2015, the IP Toolkit was created to help businesses and researchers navigate complex intellectual property (IP) issues through a range of resources. The updated public beta version of the IP Toolkit is now available and we would welcome your feedback.

Developed in collaboration with the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science (DIIS), the new IP Toolkit is more accessible, interactive and user-friendly. The content has been streamlined, with a stronger focus on IP matters, and greater integration of the tools (model contracts, a collaboration checklist and templates for a confidentiality agreement and a term sheet).

In our continuous effort to improve the IP Toolkit, we look forward to your thoughts and feedback, particularly on:

  • the structure and layout of the website, particularly the arrangement of the content into two separate streams for researchers and businesses
  • the suitability of the information provided
  • the usefulness and applicability of the IP management scenarios
  • whether there is additional IP-related content that would be useful to add or provide links to, noting that the IP Toolkit is intended to integrate with (and not duplicate) other resources available from www.ipaustralia.gov.au or www.business.gov.au.

Please provide your comments by 31 August 2017 using the feedback form or by email IPToolkit@industry.gov.au.
