We are currently seeking input from interested parties about proposed changes to Australia’s IP legislation.

The measures proposed in the draft legislation include the first set of legislative measures in response to the Productivity Commission’s inquiry into Australia’s IP arrangements, including phasing out of the innovation patent system. In addition to these measures, the exposure draft legislation also includes a number of other IP issues, including some measures from the previously consulted on draft Intellectual Property Laws Amendment Bill 2017.

Making a submission

We invite you to provide a written submission on the draft legislation by 4 December 2017. Further information (including full details about how to provide a written submission and what input we are seeking) is available on our consultation page.
