eServices help - Renewal

On this page:

Your reference

Your reference allows you to enter a unique reference of your choice. You can use any combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers and special characters.

This reference can be used by you to identify this eServices transaction.

If you complete multiple items within a transaction, for example you submit two renewals and pay for them in a single transaction, eServices will only record one 'Your reference'; this will be the last reference that you entered.

IP Right number

An IP Right number is a number that has been provided to you by IP Australia and you can find it on any correspondence that we have sent you regarding this IP right.

Patents

For patents an IP right number could be a patent number, application number or serial number. You can search for this number through AusPat.

Trade marks

For trade marks an IP right number is the same as a trade mark number. You can search for this number through ATMOSS.

Designs

For designs an IP right number is a design number or a registration number. You can search for this number through ADDS.

Plant Breeder's Rights

For plant breeder's rights the IP right number is an application or certificate number. You can search for this number on the Plant Breeder's Rights database.

Changed address for service

To change your address you need to notify us in writing so that we can amend your existing or pending IP right. In most circumstances you will not have to provide us with evidence of a change of address. It will take approximately 5 working days for your address to be updated.

If you complete an eServices transaction prior to updating your address some or all of the correspondence for that transaction will be sent to the current address that we have recorded for you.
