Declaration of Public Holidays for 2023

On 13 December 2022, the Director General of IP Australia declared, in accordance with the relevant intellectual property rights legislation, those days when the Canberra office will not be open for business.

A copy of the declaration is attached.

The close-down provisions in the Designs Act 2003, Olympic Insignia Protection Act 1987, Patents Act 1990, Plant Breeder’s Rights Act 1994 and Trade Marks Act 1995 each state when the Designs Office, the Patent Office, the Plant Breeder's Rights Office and the Trade Marks Office are not open for business.

During the period 1 January 2023 – 2 January 2024, the Canberra office will not be open for business on all Saturdays and Sundays in this period and the following dates:
