Trade mark number:
The PRODUCT CERTIFIED TESTED STRUCTURAL PLYWOOD PAA ENGINEERED WOOD certification trade mark was established by the Engineered Wood Products Association of Australasia (EWPAA) to assist EWPAA members and other participants to produce structural plywood that consistently meets the AS/NZS 2269.0 standards.

The trade mark may only be applied to plywood that conforms to the AS/NZS 2269.0 standards in all respects. To be eligible, applicants must satisfy the EWPAA that their products:

  • Meet thickness tolerance above the minimum allowable thickness limit

  • Have an average bond quality of 5 and none below 2

  • Have mechanical properties with acceptable Modulus of Elasticity (MoE)

  • Ensure preservative retention and penetration meets hazard level H1

Participating mills must also establish an in-mill process Quality Control system and an end product internal testing audit program to ensure conformance to the National Standards. They must appoint a Quality Control officer and submit plywood samples to the EWPAA’s National Testing Laboratory that meet the required pass rate.
