Country codes for Patents
IP Australia follows the WIPO
ST.3 (PDF) recommended standard on 2-letter codes for the representation
of states, other entities and intergovernmental organizations for all patent
data and the ISO
3166-1 standard on country names and codes for address and applicant/inventor
details, (except for HK which follows the WIPO ST.3 standard in this instance
too), with the following exceptions due to Australian Government policy: MO
represents the country name Macau, TL represents East Timor and TW represents
