We have collaborated with the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the World Intellectual Property Organization (the WIPO Center) to develop new resources that provide alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services online.

This new service provides Australian business with improved access to mediation, arbitration and expert determination and will enable parties to settle international IP disputes in a time and cost efficient manner.

Through the WIPO Center, disputes can now be resolved through the use of high-quality videoconferencing facilities.

The WIPO Center has offered ADR options, developed by leading experts in cross-border dispute resolution since 1994. This service has been used by parties in over 480 mediation, arbitration and expert determination cases and over 36 000 internet domain name disputes. To date, some 70 per cent of WIPO mediations have been successfully settled.

We are proud to have been able to partner with WIPO on this initiative that will not only service and be of value to Australians, but IP rights owners from around the world.
