Mediation experience

As an intellectual property lawyer and dispute resolution practitioner of 25+ years' experience with specific in experience in trade mark, patent & design prosecutions and opposition (both local and overseas) and Local, Federal and Supreme Court litigation, I bring structure , psychology and empathy to an intellectual property conflict. My primary focus and success is to resolve disputes in a calm, expedient and affordable manner that quickly defuses the situation and avoids the expense of litigation. My knowledge of mediation and litigation structure and the psychology of conflict allows me to defuse conflict during mediation and achieve lasting resolution. That skill allows parties to own their decisions and agreements resulting in satisfaction in the end agreement. My conflict resolution practice has a reputation for being able to bring parties to resolution where the parties had been so at odds that a resolution was never previously been thought possible. The most common comment I receive at the end of a mediation private meeting is " WOW, I feel so much better as if a weight has been lifted off my shoulders".

I have mostly helped parties in IP, IT and commercial disputes but, I also provide a pro bono practice for creatives. I work closely with clients' solicitors, accountants and offer telephone and online mediation for parties Australia wide.

Mediation and conciliation is at the core of who I am and what I do and I obtain incredible personal satisfaction from helping people to resolution. I consider that my wide experience makes me unique in IP mediation. I work for people in conflict all the time.

IP related mediations conducted by the Applicant:

The majority of my mediations have involved trade marks and copyright disputes. All have been resolved in a single day mediation. All parties have been happy with the result such that none of the matters that I have resolved with the parties have been subsequently litigated.

Confidentiality obliges me not to reveal any further details. However, I consider that I am uniquely qualified to support parties to resolve disputes in a commercial manner especially trade mark matters.
