We've updated our pilot initiative IP First Response – an educational tool to help you navigate intellectual property (IP) enforcement options – with new content and features to explore.
We launched the prototype digital tool in March 2025 to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and IP rights holders, better understand the options open to them.
With IP First Response, you can easily select between different factors to help you find information about IP enforcement that may be relevant to your business.
Improving the experience for users
We updated IP First Response following feedback from small businesses, IP rights holders and IP professionals. It now features a new interface to browse content, making it easier to explore the possible risks, benefits, costs and outcomes of different enforcement options.
We expanded the tool to include explaining what IP infringement is and the options available if you’re accused of copying someone else’s IP.
The four main registered IP rights – trade marks, patents, design rights and plant breeder’s rights – are also now part of the pilot.
