Refunds

Refunds and waivers are only available in limited circumstances.

We will apply the same rules for refunds and waivers to all of our customers.

Underpayment of fees

We will not carry out an action until the fee is paid in full.

Automatically granted refunds

We will automatically refund money when:

  • you have submitted a payment with a request for something we don't do, such as car registration

  • you have submitted a payment with a request for something that is not possible , like opposing a newly filed application

  • you have overpaid the fee or paid the fee twice.

  • In all other cases you must make a written request for a refund.

Refunds for incomplete transactions

Where you have paid a fee to lodge a document or perform an action, the fee may be refunded if you did not complete the next step.

You need to make a request in writing.

If you did lodge the document or perform the action, then a refund is not possible.

Waiver or exemption of fees

We will waive fees in part or in full only in rare circumstances.

If we make an error

If we make an error that results in a fee for you we will refund the amount.
