IPGOD—Intellectual Property Government Open Data—is a publicly available data set that provides access to over 100 years of information from IP Australia on IP rights applications. 

IPGOD is freely available on It was first released in 2014 and is updated annually.

IPGOD covers each of the four types of IP rights administered by IP Australia (patents, trade marks, designs and plant breeder’s rights) and captures the application process and its results. This includes the type of IP right applied for, key dates and events, and the names of applicants, their agents and other associated parties. It also contains additional information, such as the Australian Business Number (ABN) or Australian Company Number (ACN) of some applicants or parties.
