Summary
This report explores the use of patents by firms that are adopting and developing AI technologies. It uses novel data linking information on firms’ job postings and employee skills with data on their international patenting activity.
The report was commissioned by IP Australia to provide initial evidence for how AI is impacting the IP system, and better understand how patents are used by AI-intensive firms and industries.
