Terminology
Throughout these pages, we use the term Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP) to describe First Nations culture, knowledge and creative expressions. You may also see terms such as Indigenous Knowledge (IK), Traditional Knowledge (TK) and Traditional Cultural Expressions (TCE) used by governments, communities, organisations and international bodies.
We use the term First Nations peoples for consistency throughout these pages. We recognise the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and acknowledge that terminology preferences may vary.
