Research underpins much of our work at IP Australia. We conduct regular research, offer patent analytics services, and maintain publicly available data sets that offer key insights into the Australian IP system.
Through our customer research, we strive to continually improve the way we deliver services. We also analyse and share data to help shape policy, research and commercialisation.
Our research and data initiatives are supported through:
- the Office of Chief Economist (OCE) who play a vital role in evaluating the economic impact of various components of the IP system, to inform evidence-based policy decisions. The OCE also produce our flagship product, the Australian IP Report
- the Patent Analytics Hub who provide data analysis to help you enhance your business strategy
- Open Data: publicly available and free data sets that provide access to data on Australian IP rights, and international data on trade marks
- our customer research that helps us continually improve our service offerings.
